...Color Challenge #163 Cards

I created two cards for the SCS Color Challenge today: Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink, and Certainly Celery. For the first card I used the sets "Polka Stars" and "Swirly Stars" from Verve Visual to create the top two stars on the circles. The stars were stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto Certainly Celery Cardstock and Pretty in Pink Cardstock. The card base is Chocolate Chip Cardstock, and the designer paper is Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper. I used the Large Star Punch to make the chocolate star on the bottom of the star medallion. The 1-1/4 Circle Punch and 1-3/8 Circle Punch were used with Very Vanilla Cardstock and Pretty in Pink Cardstock to make the circular elements. I faux stitched above the designer paper panel using a Mat Pack, a Paper Piercer, and a White Signo Gel Pen. The sentiment (also from Verve) was stamped in chocolate ink also. It reads, "I thank my lucky stars for you". The card was finished with some Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon tied in a knot.
This last card has a Pretty in Pink Cardstock base that has been stamped with "Tres Chic" in Pretty in Pink Classic Ink. The rest of the images are from the hostess set "Spring Solitude". The Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip panels were stamped with the flower trio image in Certainly Celery Classic Ink, then the edges were sponged with the same color of ink and a Sponge Dauber. The focal image is on Whisper White Cardstock with mats of Pretty in Pink Cardstock and Chocolate Chip Cardstock. The flowers were colored with Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers before being stamped onto the white paper. This was done three more times on a scrap piece of white cardstock, but these blooms were painted with Cotton Candy and Lime Stickles. Once these blooms were dried, they were cut out using CutterBee Scissors, and popped up off of the main image using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the "All Holidays" set, and it was stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto white cardstock. The bird from the Spring Solitude set was stamped in Certainly Celery Classic Ink after it was stamped-off once. The completed sentiment was punched out using the Small Oval Punch. The oval also has mats of pink and chocolate. Two Pretty in Pink Brads were added to the sentiment panel to finish it off. Lastly, Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon was added to the focal panel and one of the celery panels before the card was assembled.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you all tomorrow with something for the Sketch Challenge at SCS. Don't forget to check out my sketch challenge below! Link your card to your comment, and I will come by and check out your creations! Until then.....Hugs ~ Mercy

I love both your cards. It's great to see how different the same colors can turn out.

Mercy, both of these are just beautiful -- your use of the colors in different ways is really neat!!

I gave you an award on my blog today!

Definite eye opener how the cards look so incredibly different yet use the same colors. (The second is my favorite. Love the layout and stickles!)

Beautiful, Mercy! Love how different you made the color combination look in each of the cards. I'm planning on getting to your sketch for this week soon.
