...Spectrum Pads

Here's my tribute to spectrum pads. I can't remember which catalog this card is in, but I spruced it up a bit to fit my style and color preference. I simply turned the pad upside down and stamped it straight onto my white cardstock. It is very important to keep the sections separated in order to get this same look...I haven't tried it with them pushed together yet. I really like the way it turned out. Once the pad image was stamped I had to put some flowers with it (I can hear Gina sighing just thinking about cutting them out!). The flowers are raised using dimensionals. The recipe will be listed at the end of this post.
Stampin' Up! update to my friends and stamping enthusiasts-I am waiting to sign up until the first of July so that I can get some of the new stuff from the new catalog. Would you all be terribly upset if I didn't have an open house, but a play day instead one Saturday next month at my house? I am afraid that the new catalogs and my kit will not be in until after my scheduled open house. So if you ladies want to get your catalogs from Paige that will be fine...then you can have them (and have your favorites marked) by the time we get together to play. I may have to do classes a little different, just for this first year, in order to build up some excess stock to offer you all. Here's my idea: We'll have "classes", or what I will call "play days", at my house. I will supply the materials for all the projects, and you guys come and play. We will not have hostesses this first year...you come and play with my stuff , and order if you want something. If you don't want anything ordered, just pay a donation of $5.00 to cover material costs. Then, every other month we will get together at the church for a craft day. Scrapbooking, cardmaking, special projects...whatever. You bring whatever you want to work on! This will be a good chance to bring new people in to get introduced and accustomed to stamping. I will be there with lots of stuff that you can use, and I will be working on my own projects.
This will still be an advanced class this year, and we will focus on new techniques and fun projects. So, what do you think? Do you think you can go just one year without being hostesses in order to help me out my first year if I supply all the materials (including scissors and adhesive) for the play days? Please let me know by either leaving a comment to this post or emailing me. If you sign up to leave me comments, please sign your name at the end so that I know who you are. Thanks ladies! I love you all and appreciate all of your kindness and encouraging words!
