...Budding Blossoms Sketch

DON'T FORGET TO PLAY ALONG WITH MERCY'S TUESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE #35 HERE!
This is my submission for today's Sketch Challenge #242 at SCS. I started with a Sage Shadow Cardstock base, and matted each additional layer with Chocolate Chip Cardstock. I sponged the edges of every layer (except the focal panel) with a Sponge Dauber and Sage Shadow Classic Ink. The patterned papers were from the retired Autumn Vine Designer Series Paper pack, and I used a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer to pierce along the sides of the striped panel. The dotted sage panel was created using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and my Big Shot.

The flower image on the focal panel is from Verve's new August release set, Budding Blossoms, and was stamped in Sage Shadow Classic Ink. The sentiment is the new To Risk Plain Jane stamp, and was stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink over the sage flower. I pierced along the bottom of the sentiment, then embellished with a piece of Chocolate Chip Felt Ribbon and two Chocolate Chip Corduroy Brads.

That's it for now! I have some 3D projects and other sketch cards to work on today, so there is a good chance that you will see another creation from me again tonight! :) Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and I will see you all a bit later. Until then...

gorgeous card, Mercy! I had to laugh, though, because I was making a card yesterday for your sketch challenge and had some beautiful dp that matched sage shadow perfectly, but after making the card I hated it!! So much so I had to leave the studio!! I'm starting over today but the sage shadow will not be on the card. Thanks for this beautiful card that is mending my relationship with this colour!! LOL :)
