...Inspiration Challenge #170

Check out the post below to see my KCI44 and WSC71 submission!
This is my submission for today's Inspiration Challenge #170 at SCS. I chose THIS crib bedding set from Spunky Sprout as my jumping-off-point. I just adore odd color combinations, and my mind has been on babies since the birth of my new niece, Marlee Anna, this past Monday. I can't wait to hold you, precious...but I have to get over this sore throat first!

I started with a Tangerine Tango Cardstock base, then matted the additional layers with Taken With Teal Cardstock. I added another layer of tangerine cardstock on the focal panel also. The sentiment was from "Fundamental Phrases", and was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink onto the patterned paper (from the Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper pack) that covered the bottom section of the Whisper White Cardstock panel.

The train cars and puffs of smoke were from the new set "Choo-Choo", while the train tracks were created using the new "Right on Track" standard roller. I sponged the grass in Kiwi Kiss Classic Ink using a Sponge Dauber, then created the sky using a sponge dauber and Bashful Blue Classic Ink. The trains were embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Gun after being stamped with the following: Taken With Teal Craft Ink, Only Orange Craft Ink, and Tempting Turquoise Craft Ink. The puffs of smoke were stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed as well. Each part was meticulously cut out using a combination of CutterBee Scissors and an Xacto Knife. The trains were placed on the tracks using Dimensionals, and the puffs of smoke were added above the locomotive in the same manner. A piece of 5/8" Tangerine Tango Striped Grosgrain Ribbon was tied to the left-hand side of the focal panel to complete the card. I used the Horizontal Slot Punch to create a hole in the focal panel in order to lace the ribbon through to the front portion of the panel...it made it alot easier to tie a proper knot.

That's it for today...I am pooped! I have to clean house and clean the carpets, so I probably won't be back online until late tonight. Pam Varnell and her husband are coming over for dinner and to hang out for the night, so you know I will be making cards for all of the other Saturday sketch challenges, right?!? LOL! I will see you all again tomorrow {or really late tonight} with some more new goodies to share, but until then...
