...Sketch Challenge & Remake Thursday

This is my submission for yesterday's Sketch Challenge # 213 at SCS. I used the new set "Animal Crackers" and the new Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper pack to create this particular card. Since I have created two cards to post today I am going to be very brief in their descriptions, but I will include a supply list for each card at the bottom.

I finally got around to doing another remake card, too! I think I am going to make Thursdays the permanent remake day instead of Wednesdays. As before, I will give a list of all of the changes made below the new and improved card, but the supplies {for the new card only} will be listed at the bottom of the post.

"Vintage - Kids at Play" {circa 2003}
"New & Improved - Kids at Play" {2009}
Changes Made:
  • I added a couple of layers to the card base
  • I pierced the edges of the card base and focal panel
  • I changed the circles from cardstock to Sweet Always Designer Series Paper
  • I popped the focal panel and the image using Dimensionals
  • I stamped and embossed the image on watercolor paper {I also added some wheels to make it look like she was skating}
  • I colored her different colors, but I also colored her using a different medium. The vintage one was colored with markers, and the new one was watercolored
  • I added three brads instead of six eyelets
  • I added a sentiment panel
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by today, and I will see you all again tomorrow with some more of my new goodies and BLOG CANDY!!! You will NOT want to miss it! Until later...

Mercy, your sketch card is beautiful! What an adorable giraffe!
I'm lovin' your series on remakes, wow! I wouldn't be able to do a series on my cards...they would look pretty much the same. LOL
But I'm learning...so thanks for sharing these!
Blessings, Maria

I am a newbie to your blog and just love your work? The above cards are so adorable. I like how you created the background for the sentiment using the curly label punch and a circle punch...cool! I especially like how you do your "re-makes". I always laugh when I pull out old cards I made that I thought were so great at the time.

Both of these projects are fantastic! I've been wishy/washy about that new Animal Crackers set but your card is very persuasive! ~chris
