...Open House Sneak Peek #1

This is one of the projects that my customers will be creating when they come by for my Spring-Summer 2009 Catalog & Idea Book Open House. I started with a Cameo Coral Cardstock base, then matted the additional layers with Real Red Cardstock. The patterned paper is from a new pack called Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper...I love it {wink wink}! I added Silver Brads to the designer paper panel using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The images are from an upcoming Level Three Hostess Stamp Set called "Dream A Little". The outline of the flower was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink, then the filling was stamped in Cameo Coral Classic Ink using a Stamp-a-ma-jig (SAMJ) and Image Sheet for perfect placement. I stamped another outline on a scrap piece of paper, cut it out, and covered the one on the focal panel exactly. I then stamped the stems in Kiwi Kiss Classic Ink over the top of the scrap flower...this is called masking. This technique allows the stems to appear as though they are behind the flower instead of running through the center of it.
The sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink also using a SAMJ and Image Sheet, then the edges were pierced using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer again. The hummingbird was stamped in Real Red Classic Ink, and his belly was colored with a White Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen {this is the best white gel pen in the world}. The hummer was then cut out and popped off of the focal panel with Dimensionals. The entire focal panel was attached to the base using Dimensionals before 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon was added round the entire card front to complete it.
That's it for now...notice that I said "for now" instead of "for today"? I will be sharing two more projects with you that will be featured at tomorrow's Open House...you will not want to miss them! So until later...
