Here is my sample! I used the colors on the sketch as a starting point for this birthday card: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun, Whisper White, and Basic Black. Today is my youngest son's 13th birthday....I feel soooo old! LOL! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GABE!!!
I had to pull out "Ahoy Matey" for a boy's card. The treasure chest was stamped on Watercolor Paper in Jet Black Staz-On Ink. I watercolored it with an Aquapainter and the following Stampin' Write Markers: Summer Sun, Creamy Caramel, More Mustard, and Close To Cocoa. I don't have a Pacific Point marker (and Stampin' Up! doesn't even sale one...don't get me started), so I squeezed the center of the Pacific Point Classic Ink Pad to create a palette in the center of the lid. I cut out the image, and popped it off of the Whisper White Cardstock panel using Dimensionals. I used a Going Gray Stampin' Write Marker to create the shadow under the chest. As an after-thought, I coated the parrot with some Crystal Effects to make him glisten. I don't use it alot, but I really like the effect (haha) it gives...I will have to use it more often.
I also used the "Matey's Map" Jumbo Roller on the Kiwi Kiss Cardstock panel, but I used a Old Olive Classic Ink Pad to make the picture stand out. The edges of the panel were also distressed using a Sponge Dauber in olive. The Summer Sun Cardstock panel was stamped with the map directional grid in More Mustard Classic Ink. The circles were punched out using the following punches: 1" Circle Punch (Pacific Point Cardstock), 3/4" Circle Punch (Basic Black Cardstock), 1/2" Circle Punch (Old Olive Cardstock and Summer Sun Cardstock). The circles were then distressed with a Sponge Dauber in their respective colors.
That's it for today! I have to take another dose of medicine, so I will probably be comatose shortly! Thanks for coming by on this beautiful Veteran's Day! Don't forget to pray for our troops, and thank God for the freedoms we enjoy each day because of the their sacrifice. Until later....
