...Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #08 (MTSC08)

Here is your sketch challenge and my sample for this week. I started with a card base of Ballet Blue Cardstock (11 X 4-1/4), and then added a 1-1/4" strips of patterned papers from the following paper packs directly to the base: Summer Picnic Designer Series Papers (top), Old Olive Designer Series Papers (middle), and Cutie Pie Designer Series Papers (bottom). The left-hand side of the designer paper panel was faux stitched using a Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, and Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. The focal panel was made from Old Olive Cardstock (2-1/4 X 3-1/8) and Watercolor Paper (2-1/8 X 3). The cute whale from the set "Pun Fun" was stamped twice with Jet Black Staz-On Ink; once onto the focal panel, and again onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper. The sky on the focal panel was painted with a Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Marker and an Aquapainter; then the whale on the scrap piece was painted with an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker and an Aquapainter. Once the whale was dry it was cut out with CutterBee Scissors, then it was popped up off of the focal panel using Dimensionals (the completed panel was also attached to the card base using dimensionals). Baby Blue Stickles were added to give the water a little *sparkle*. A piece of 5/8" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon was tied in a simple knot to finish off the card.

That's it for today, so go play with the sketch to see what you can come up with! Don't forget:
  • Use the keyword MTSC08 when uploading your creation to a public gallery
  • Include a link back here to the original sketch when uploading to your blog/gallery
  • Leave a comment at this post with a link to your blog/gallery, so I can see and comment on your creation.

Thanks for stopping by and playing! Until tomorrow....

Here is my card! I loved this sketch! I didn't add the stitching because of the ribbon. I hope that's ok! Thanks for the great sketch!

Great sketch, Mercy! Your sample is adorable. I (finally!) did two cards with the sketch. Here they are: http://inkingaloud.blogspot.com/2008/06/sleepy-stamping.html
