...Introducing Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC01)

Here is the first of my weekly sketch challenges that I will be sharing on Tuesdays! Use this sketch to make your own creation, and post a link to your card in the comment section below. If you upload your card to SCS please include the keyword MTSC01 in your title. Your dimensions do not have to be the same as mine, but try to keep the card as close to the sketch as possible.
I used this sketch the other day for this "Happy Mother's Day" class card, so I wanted to share the details with you today. I started with a card base of Soft Sky cardstock (Layer 1: 7 X 6-3/4). The base was followed by Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper (Layer 2: 6-3/4 X 1) that was sponged with Close to Cocoa Classic Ink and a Sponge Dauber. The next layer up was Groovy Guava cardstock (Layer 3: 6-1/2 X 5/8) that was stamped with "Itty Bitty Backgrounds" in Groovy Guava Classic Ink. Two Silver Brads were added to the top portion of the panel using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer for placement, then the panel was attached to the card base using SNAIL Adhesive.

The focal panel (Layer 4) consists of Chocolate Chip cardstock (4-3/4 X 2-1/8), Whisper White cardstock (4-5/8 X 2), and Vellum (4-3/4 X 2-1/8). The white cardstock was stamped with "Live Your Dreams" in Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, Groovy Guava Classic Ink, and Soft Sky Classic Ink. The edges were also sponged with Close to Cocoa Classic Ink using a Sponge Dauber. The vellum piece was used as an overlay after it was stamped with the Mother's Day sentiment from "All Holidays" in Jet Black Staz-On Ink. I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig and an Image Sheet for perfect placement, then attached it to the rest of the panel using two more Silver Brads. The completed panel was then attached to the card base using Dimensionals.

That's it for today! I can't wait to see your creations with this sketch! Don't forget to include the keywords if you are uploading to SCS. I will be checking out and commenting on all of your cards....have fun! Until tomorrow.....Hugs ~ Mercy

Here's my sample:

I combined it with a color challenge so don't be fooled by the title of my blog entry. Also, I flipped the sketch onto its side.

Enjoy!
