...I'm Back...And So Is My Mojo!

As you can see, I have been playing with some of my new rubbah! I spent the weekend with my precious friend, Martha Lynn, and we practically locked ourselves in her craft room. Thanks to some time out of my house, and a nurturing friend who loves to stamp, I was able to complete three cards...the first ones I've done in over two weeks! What do you think? I'm not going to go into details with measurements due to the lengthiness (is that a word?) of this post, but I will give you the colors and accessories. This first one was made using the stamp set "Kind Thoughts". The flourish and butterfly are both stamped in VersaMark ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then they are embossed in Dark Brown Embossing Powder. The large flower from the same set was stamped in VersaMark ink onto the bottom portion of the Chocolate Chip card base, and then it was embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. The focal image was mounted onto a piece of So Saffron cardstock before being attached to the card base using SNAIL Adhesive. Two pieces of Chocolate 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon were added to the top and bottom of the focal image. The butterfly was cut out and popped up off of the flourish using Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the set "Carte Postale", and it is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink in the lower right corner of the focal panel. The card is finished off by attaching Clear Rhinestones to the flourish with Mini Glue Dots.

This card was made using Groovy Guava Textured Cardstock as the card base. The stamps used are all from the set "Bursting With Joy". The star burst is stamped randomly on the card base in Groovy Guava ink, and it was then stamped in the center of a piece of Whisper White cardstock to make the focal image. The "thank you" sentiment from the set is stamped in Real Red ink over the star burst. The same sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink onto Real Red cardstock, and the "thank you" was the only portion cut out from the red cardstock. The sentiment on the red paper was popped up off of the original one with Dimensionals. The white panel is matted with both Real Red and Basic Black cardstocks. All of the layers were attached using SNAIL Adhesive. White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon was added to the bottom of the focal panel, and finished in a simple knot. To add a little balance to the tall card three Black Brads were added to the lower right corner of the card base.

This card is a semi-catty-CASE. The card in the catalog uses guava, but I used Barely Banana cardstock as a card base along with Always Artichoke cardstock and Au Chocolat Designer Series Paper. The flower is the hostess stamp "From the Garden", and it is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink onto the banana base. The sentiment is from the set "Kind Thoughts". It is stamped on the artichoke cardstock in Always artichoke ink. The designer paper and the artichoke sentiment panel were attached to the card base with SNAIL Adhesive, and Chocolate 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon was added at the top of the sentiment panel. I used the Boho Blossoms Punch with Chocolate Chip and Barely Banana cardstocks to create the flower on top of the ribbon. The two different flowers are attached using an Artichoke Brad, then the complete flower is attached to the card using a Mini Glue Dot.

That's it for today! I hope to be back to the challenges at SCS some time this week, so keep a look-out for another creation. I am loving the more simple card layouts, and uncluttered look with my cards....I hope to continue making simple, but stunning work. Until then.......Hugs ~ Mercy
