... Halloween Wooden Totes

HOW CUTE ARE THESE?

Don't you just love these little wooden boxes?! This one is painted with acrylic paint that matches SU's Green Galore. The spiders were embossed, then eyelets were added for their eyes. The black webs they dangle from is actually black hemp. This box is filled with sweet treats for the potential buyer! The spiders are from the set Trick or Treat. There are four stamps in the set: the spider, a jack-o-lantern, a cat's head, and the sentiment "Trick or Treat". I went through my sets before I had my huge retired stamp sale, but couldn't give it up! I simply love it!

This one is one of my favorites! I used acrylic paint that matched Perfect Plum to cover this box. The "boo" is stamped using Headline Alphabet in Old Olive onto Whisper White cardstock, then cut out. I used my Basic Black marker to outline the letters in a creepy fashion. The little spider for this one is from the fabulous set Booglie Eyes. He is stamped in black Staz-On onto white, then he is watercolored with Perfect Plum. I gave him a bit of a *sparkle* by adding some Ice Stickles in Blueberry Ice. The background is made by using several background stamps, but the one on the purple piece is accented using the white gel Signo pen...I also doodled around the orange panel behind the sentiment. There is also some yummy candy stashed inside this one for the buyer!

I made several of these boxes for the craft show this past weekend...which turned out to be a disaster! This was my first craft show so I was very nervous anyways, but as it turns out it was poorly publicized! I sat all day waiting for craft enthusiasts to fill up the fellowship hall of the local church where it was being held...but the throngs never came! I was so disappointed; I was out ALOT of money and sleep, and I felt like I had wasted a perfectly wonderful Saturday. I could have been home cleaning or working on my SCS challenges (even better!). Needless to say, I didn't sell one thing...NOT ONE! If it wasn't for this wonderful crafter beside me I would have gone bonkers. Cindy Lowery is a phenomenal polymer clay artist, and an even more exceptional encouragement! We spent the whole day chatting...craft shows, family, stupid stuff. She was filled with a wealth of wisdom, and I was so pleased to be able to spend so much time with her! Thanks, Cindy!

Will this be my last craft show? Probably not! But I will make sure that the next one is highly publicized...and that Cindy will be there!

Well, I have to catch up on several challenges later on, so I hope to have some new cards on here pretty soon! I'll see you all sometime tomorrow! Until then...Hugs ~ Mercy

How frustrating but then again, God put you in that place perhaps to make a lifelong friend. He knows He's doing. Plus, now you'll have all of your crafts ready for the next show.

These halloween boxes are so cute!
