…Verve Day Thanksgiving

card_1529

Mojo166

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  I am sure that everyone is enjoying lots of food, family, and fun today…but I wanted to go ahead and post a card for Verve Day Thursday as well.  I wanted to show you a card that I created using this week’s Mojo Monday #166 sketch as a starting point.  I used the new “Bountiful Harvest” and “Happy Fall” along with some patterned papers from BasicGrey’s Pyrus paper pad.  I stamped the image in Black Ink, then colored it with Copic Sketch Markers, and the sentiment was stamped in White Ink.  The edges of some of the panels were distressed, but I sponged all of them with some Chocolate Ink and a Sponge Dauber.  I added some Crinkled Ribbon along with a Button and Copper Cording as well as some Brown Rhinestones.  After adding several Dimensionals the card was complete.

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you back here again tomorrow with another TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge!  Until then…

…Joy For The Journey

card_1519

Mojo162Sketch

Happy Thursday, Verve fans!  I wanted to show you a card that I created for this last release using the Mojo Monday #162 sketch as a starting point.  I used the new “Joy For The Journey” to create this clean and simple card.  I used some patterned papers from the PTI’s Bountiful Blooms paper pad along with some Black, Aqua, and White Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in Black Ink, then cut out the focal panel using Classic Circle Nesties Dies.  I added piercing around the large white background panel, then stitched the floral paper panel.  After adding some Punched Flowers with Silver Brad centers and a few Dimensionals the card was complete.

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you back here again tomorrow with another TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge!  Until then…

…Let Us Not Become Weary

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY OCL SKETCH CARD FOR TODAY

card_1472

Mojo159Sketch

It’s almost time for another release over at Verve Stamps, and I’m so excited to be bringing you a sneak peek of a couple of the new Plain Janes that will be featured for this fabulous fall season!  Once again Julee has astounded us with her clean and elegant images along with sentiments that are versatile and ingenious.  The little bird comes from one of the new releases called “Harvest Birds”, and the set contains two bird images (one solid, one outline) and a sentiment.  The verse, however, is from “Galatians 6:9” and is the perfect sentiment for fall cards.

I used the sketch from today’s Mojo Monday #159 which is a contest, so be sure to hop on over there to find out what goodies Julee has to offer!  I combined the image and sentiment with some patterned papers from DCWV’s Amber Autumn paper pad.  After adding some Stitching, Pearls, and Dimensionals the card was complete.

There’s alot going on this week, so let me take a second to fill you in on some of the Verve-y goodness!  LOL!  Be sure to check out the Verve Stamps Store to take advantage of the sale that is going on!  The set “Frosty Flakes” is marked down 40% until October 28th!  There were also World Card Making Day-Release Week Challenges issued over at the Verve Blog this past weekend!  You will NOT want to miss the rest of the release sneak peeks this week, so be sure to head back over here on Wednesday to see my next one…and the other Divas have some GORGEOUS samples up their sleeves as well.

That’s it for today!  Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow with another Tuesday Sketch Challenge!  Until then…

…Verve Day Mojo Project Parade

Happy Thursday, Verve fans!  I’m here with my creation for this month’s “Something Old, Something New” Project Parade over at the Verve Blog.  I completed the parade on Tuesday of this week, and the Divas really knocked it out of the park for this theme!  I took the theme as a personal challenge to not only combine both old and stamp sets, but to also use old and new patterned papers, cardstocks, embellishments, and techniques.  I hope you enjoy the end result as much as I enjoyed making it!

card_1457_closeup

With Christmas just around the corner, I wanted to take advantage of this month’s theme to create a card using the older sets “Star of Wonder” (sentiment) and “Holly Jolly Christmas” (holly accent) along with one of the newest releases “Fabulous You” (frame).  Julee was kind enough to send me an advanced copy of this week’s Mojo Monday #156 to use as a template for this seasonal delight…thanks so much, Julee!  I dry embossed the Chocolate Cardstock panel using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, then stitched the multiple strips of patterned paper from SU’s retired Holiday Harmony Designer Series Paper pack to the same panel.  I distressed the edges before adding it to the Green Cardstock panel.  The sentiment and frame were stamped onto the same White Cardstock panel, then the holly image was stamped onto a scrap piece of White Cardstock.  After the holly was colored with Copic Sketch Markers, I cut it out and attached it to the sentiment panel using pop dots.  I added some sponging in Chocolate Ink around the edges of the sentiment panel, then accented it with Red Pearls.  After adding the Red Cardstock base the card was complete!

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you back here tomorrow with another TGF Farm Fresh Friday creation!  Until then…

…Verve Day Love

card_1383

card_1383_closeup

Mojo101

Today’s Verve Day Thursday is all about love.  Not the kind of love that is convenient and wrapped in a perfect little package, but the kind of love that is complicated and has a tendency to be messy when you least expect it.  The kind of love that endures when others thought it would fall by the wayside without a second glance.  That is the kind of love that I want to celebrate today…true love does not come by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

I created this card using the Verve set “One Person”.  I used the Mojo Monday #101 as my starting point, and tried to keep the layout pretty clean.  I only used two pieces of patterned paper from October Afternoon’s Farm Fresh paper pad.  I added Black Cardstock mats and accents, and also added some Black Stitching along the edges of the background panel.  I stamped the flower from the set in Tuxedo Black onto PTI White Cardstock three times, then colored each of them with Copic Sketch Markers.   I cut out and layered the bloom, then attached them to each other using several Dimensionals.  The completed blossom was attached to a PTI Cream Cardstock circle panel that was cut out using Circle Nesties and my Big Shot.  After adding some Paper Piercing and a few Pearls the card was complete.

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you back here again tomorrow with another Farm Fresh Friday Challenge!  Until then…

…Verve Day Elegance

card_1366

Mojo137

Today's Verve Day Thursday is all about simple elegance!  I used Julee’s Mojo Monday Sketch #137 from a few weeks ago.  I reached for my Ooh La La For Him paper pack from My Mind’s Eye, and used simple cardstock colors in PTI White and Basic Black.  The vertical panel of patterned papers was stitched with a sewing machine, and a sentiment from Verve’s set “Artful Elegance” was stamped in Black Ink onto a scrap piece of More Mustard Cardstock.  It was then punched out using the Small Oval Punch, then Black Pearls were added as simple embellishments.  A little paper piercing completed the card.

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you back here again tomorrow with another Farm Fresh Friday Challenge!  Until then…

As you all know by now, Thursdays have been set aside to celebrate the wonderful-and-amazing world of all things Verve. As an added bonus, I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #132 for my layout!  I am featuring my favorite set from the March Release called "Feel the Sun". ...Elegant Mojo

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's going to be a busy day here at the Kerin house! The hubby and his friend have planned to smoke some meat in the smoker, the boys and I have a Christmas Family Get-Together, and my mom's church is having their Christmas Concert later this afternoon. I wanted to make sure that I had something up for you early, because I wouldn't have the chance if I didn't do it now.

This is my submission for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #116. It seems like a lifetime since I have created a card using one of Julee's sketches, so I was thrilled to have some extra time to do the one from this week! I used the gorgeous circular flourish from the Verve Stamps set "Thankful Accents" along with one of the sentiments from the "Celebration of Thanks" set. I combined several pieces of the Night & Day Designer Series Papers with simple Silver Pearls, Striped Ribbon, a White Button, and Silver Cording.
So that's it for me today! I will see you back here tomorrow with a Club Anya Blog Hop beginning at 8 p.m. EST! Until then...

...Cracked Glass Mojo

This is my submission for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #112. I usually shy away from layouts with small focal panels, but this one actually motivated to stamp! I loved the bright color combinations in some My Mind's Eye patterned paper that I found not too long ago, and I knew I had to use it for this sketch! You can't really see it well, but the papers have glitter running throughout them...and they are so beautiful up close. I used one of the snowflakes and the sentiment from the Verve set, "Christmas In The Air", since the focal panel was so small. I used the Cracked Glass Technique on the embossed portion of the circular panel after watercoloring it. I left the white edges on the focal panel for contrast against the Regal Rose scalloped panel. So...what do you think?

I also wanted to let you all know that the Divas have started sharing some "Home For The Holidays: Gifts, Decor, and More!" over at the Verve Blog. It started yesterday, and will run until November 25th. And, as with all of our project parades, we've got prizes! To enter, just link up your Home for the Holidays creation to the Mr. Linky widget posted on Day One before midnight MST on Thursday, November 26. One lucky stamper will win a $30 gift certificate to the Verve Store. For another chance to win, be sure to give the Divas a little shout out in the comments as they parade their fabulous creations inspired by this month's theme. One lucky commenter during the course of the parade (Nov 11 - 25) will win their choice of any Verve set.

That's it for me today! I have some packing and cleaning to do, but I will see you back here tomorrow with a Farm Fresh Friday post! Until then...

...Viva La Mojo

This is my submission for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #107. I used the wreath from the new Verve set "Harvest Blessings" on the focal panel, then created my own patterned paper with the bough from the same set. I added some paper piercing, sponging, and Silver Brads to complete the card. I LOVE the way this turned out!

This bright creation is my submission for Friday's Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge with a twist of color...we could use orange or brown. When I took the picture of my card and went to edit it, I noticed that there were orange stripes in the Penny Lane patterned paper...OOPS! Sorry about that, Amber...I hope this still counts! LOL! The stars and sentiment were from the new Verve set "Starstruck", and the only embellishments used were Riding Hood Red Striped Ribbon and Silver Brads.
