...Verve August Sneak Peek #2

How do you like this festive and colorful party card? This is a sneak peek of another stamp set that will be released this month from Verve...it's called Party Time. Julee has amazed me with another gorgeous and versatile set...the font on the sentiments is so fun and playful! This image is actually a bunch of balloons, but I decided to turn them into Chinese lanterns. I absolutely love nighttime parties, so as soon as I saw this set I knew exactly what I was going to do with it! I stamped the lanterns onto Watercolor Paper in Basic Black Craft Ink, then embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Gun. They were colored with an Aquapainter and Classic Ink Pads before adding a bit of sparkle with a Gold Sakura Glaze Pen.

In keeping with the nighttime party theme, I used Not Quite Navy Cardstock for the card base and mats, then added some festive and colorful patterned papers. The yellow patterned paper was from the Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper pack, while the red was from the Jackpot Designer Series Paper pack. The focal panels were created using the Big Shot and Spellbinders' Classic Circle Nestabilities. I sponged the inside of the smaller panel with a Sponge Dauber and Not Quite Navy Classic Ink to create the look of the night sky. The lanterns were cut out and popped onto the focal panel with Dimensionals. I pierced the edges of the yellow panel with a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, and I added some Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon and Jumbo Silver Brads to finish off the card.

That's it for today! Don't forget to stop by the Verve Blog to see what some of the other Divas have done with this same set. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see a sneak peek of another new release, too! You can join in some Sketch Challenges for a chance to win some wonderful prizes at the Verve Forum at SCS...what more could you ask for? :) Until tomorrow...
