...Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #11 (MTSC11)

It seems like forever since I've made a card much less posted anything! Sorry for the silence lately, but I've had the "BLAH"s for a couple of weeks. I've been hit several days during the last few weeks with migraines that pretty much wipe me out, but I think I'm coming out of it.
Here is this week's sketch for you to play with. Use it as a jumping off point to create your own card or scrapbook layout which showcases your signature style.
This is my sample for this week. I used the colors as a starting point, but you can use whatever colors you would like. All of the images used on this card are from the set "Nursery Necessities". I started with a Wild Wasabi Cardstock base (8 X 4) to create a 4" square card. A piece of More Mustard Cardstock (2-1/2 X 2-1/2) was stamped in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink with the small star. The sentiment was stamped in Staz-On Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock (2-1/2 X 3/8), and was then placed onto a Bashful Blue Cardstock (2-1/2 X 1/2) mat. A small Real Red Button, from SU's Bold Brights Buttons collection, was added to each end of the sentiment panel using Mini Glue Dots. The sentiment was then placed onto the mustard panel with SNAIL Adhesive, and a Paper Piercer and Mat Pack were used to create the piercing over the sentiment. This completed panel was attached to the card base using Dimensionals.
The large alphabet star from the set was stamped in Bashful Blue Classic Ink onto a scrap piece of Bashful Blue Cardstock, and was punched out with the Large Star Punch. The small star image was also stamped onto a piece of Real Red Cardstock in Real Red Classic Ink. It was punched out with the Small Star Punch, and was added to the top of the large star using a Dimensional. The Scallop Circle Punch was used on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock; the 1-3/8" Circle Punch on Real Red Cardstock; and the 1-1/4" Circle Punch on Wild Wasabi Cardstock to create the flower element under the stars. This completed element was attached to the card base using Dimensionals. A piece of Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon was tied in a knot at the top of the card to finish it off.

Don't forget to:
  • Use keyword MTSC11 when uploading to a public gallery
  • Link your card in a comment at THIS post so I can see and comment on your creation ( I LOVE seeing what you all come up with!)
  • Post a link back to my blog for the original sketch when posting on your blog or in a public gallery.
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you tomorrow with the projects from my June class. Until then....

Sorry to hear about those migraines - I definitely feel your pain on that one. Glad to see you've been stamping this week, though. I didn't think I was going to be able to play along this week, but here's my contribution:
