…CASE Study Challenge #23 (CSC23)

Happy Thursday, everyone!  My boys finally went back to school on Tuesday after being home for over 4 weeks, so schedules are finally getting back to normal for everybody.  We were all about to go stir crazy!  LOL!  I haven’t really had any cardmaking mojo the last week or so, but I did get a chance to sit down and color some images that I’ve neglected over the last few months…and I’m showcasing one today!

Today’s card is for the CASE Study Challenge #23 over at the CASE Study Challenge Blog.  Here’s my new sample:

card_1558

…based on this card:

CASE_Study_080809_012011

I decided to use the layout from the original sample, but I changed the color palette and the stamps used.  I used the C.C. Designs’ image “Sugarplums Teddy Emma” from All That Scraps along with a sentiment from the “Bear Hugs” set by There She Goes.  I stamped the image in Black Ink and colored it with Copic Sketch Markers.  I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Olive Cardstock, then created a sentiment flag to scroll along the bottom of the image.  I cut out the focal panel using the Out Of The Box Technique with my Nesties and Big Shot, then paired the completed focal panel with some patterned papers from BasicGrey’s Pyrus paper pad along with some Rust, Olive, and White Cardstock.  I added some Faux Stitching along the edges of the largest patterned paper panel using a Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, and Chocolate Marker.  After adding some Ribbon, a Corduroy Button with Twine, and several Dimensionals the card was complete.  So how did this one turn out?  :)

Check out the samples from the rest of the CSC team:

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for dropping by to see me, and be sure to stop by the CASE Study Challenge Blog to see the official rules and linking tools to play along.  I’ll see you all back here tomorrow with an announcement and a card for this week’s By LORi Designs Challenge, so until then…

Another year has come and gone, and we’re at the beginning of a new one.  I wanted to take a look back and share some of my favorite things from this past year with you all today.

card_1492_3_RefrigeratorMagnet

card_1492_1_RefrigeratorMagnet

I purchased some Magnetic Tape Strips from a local store for just over $1 that is magnetic on one side and adhesive on the other…LOVE IT!

card_1492_2_RefrigeratorMagenet

I simply cut one of the strips with my Westcott Titanium Scissors that I got at Summer CHA, and attached the magnet pieces to the back of the image.  VIOLA…instant refrigerator magnet!  This particular magnet keeps my grocery list at an arms length…but I usually walk out with ALOT more than ONE bag!  LOL!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  It’s time for another challenge brought to you by All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge Blog!  This week’s challenge was to create some sort of FALL DECORATION!  I chose to create some seating cards for our Thanksgiving dinner this year…here’s mine!  I used the C.C. Designs’ “Sunflower Emma” image from the stamp kit called, “Take A Seat”.  I printed the digital image in Black onto some White Cardstock, then colored her with Copic Sketch Markers.  I paired the colored image with some patterned papers from the Jackson Lodge paper pad from Collage Press.  I used some older Sizzix Alphabet Dies and my Big Shot to create my name with some scrap pieces of Chocolate Cardstock.  I ran the diecut letters through one of my Xyron Sticker Makers, then adhered the sticky letters to the patterned paper background.  I cut Emma out, then attached her to the upper left-hand corner of the place card with Dimensionals.  After adding some Stitching and Paper Piercing the card was complete.

…Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge #94 (MTSC94)

Hello, everyone!  This is the beginning of a new month, and it is time to welcome a new Guest Muse.  But before we get to that, I wanted to thank Lori Tecler for being such a wonderful addition to the Muses last month.  Week after week she produced gorgeous and inspiring creations.  Thanks for all of your hard work and your friendship, Lori…we’ll miss you!

We are also saying goodbye to a couple of our precious Muses, Pam Speidel and Crystal Birr.  They have been with us forever and we are so sad to see them go…but we also understand that there are more important things that take precedence sometimes.  We love you both, and we wish you nothing but good luck in all of your future endeavors!

And without further adieu, I would like to introduce you to our Guest Muse for October 2010…HEATHER PULVIRENTI of Witty Title Here!

pic_heather_pulvirenti Let's get to know a little bit about Heather in her own words:

“My name is Heather Pulvirenti, though most people know me in the blogosphere as Heather P. I was born in England, and have spent most of my life in the US (in Maryland and Virginia), except for the four years we lived in Canberra, Australia (my mom was career Air Force). I would love to go back and visit Australia again one day, I just need to figure out how to convince my hubby to withstand the 14+ hour plane ride. *smiles* I currently live in Columbia, MD with my husband Jason, and our 5 1/2 year old daughter Lindsay.”

Now for this week’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge #94:

MTSC94

My Sample (using “C.C. Designs Sweet November Baby Trick Or Treat Witch” from All That Scraps…sorry for the blurry picture!  My camera went crazy, so I had to take it with my phone):

Let’s see what the Muses have in store for you today:

Now it's your turn! Create a card or scrapbook layout using the sketch above, and add your creation using the InLinkz linking system below.  Be sure to use the keyword MTSC94 when uploading to a public gallery.  Be sure that your link works before you leave the sketch post, and I will post “Mercy’s Magnificent Musings” on Sunday!

Happy Stamping!
