...Clearly Floral Sketch

I promised a card for this week's Sketch Challenge #239 from SCS, so here it is! I wanted to do something a little different with this card, so I used a piece of acetate as the background layer...what do you think? I pierced the edges, then added the other panels over it using Dimensionals. I tied the olive grosgrain ribbon around the acetate layer, then put one of my pearl buttons in the center. Speaking of doing something different, did you notice that I even distressed the edges of the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock focal panel? I hardly EVER do that! LOL!

I have been asked how thick my cards are due to using the Dimensionals, so I wanted you to see the picture below. There is a layer of Dimensionals behind the acetate, one layer behind the vertical panels, one layer on the left-hand side of the focal panel, then two layers on the right-hand side of the focal panel. My cards are not the cheapest thing to send in the snail mail...but they sure are cute! LOL! The focal panel was stamped with "Fifth Avenue Floral" from Stampin' Up in VersaMark Ink. The blooms were embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, and the centers were colored with a White Gel Pen. The sentiment , from "Elegant Cheer", was stamped in White Craft Ink before being embossed with White Embossing Powder.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you again tomorrow. I will be spending the day with my dear friend, Pam Varnell, doing some stamping before she heads off on vacation this weekend. Depending on what time I get home, there may or may not be a post for tomorrow. I might have to put it off until Saturday, but I will try my best to get something posted for you tomorrow night. Wish me luck! :) Until then...

i read the article about the bad experience you had with that particular stamp company. your integrity stands as you don't name the company. i hope others heed your advice. on another note, this card is a beauty! the mingle of razzleberry, old olive and cottage wall dsp is not what i would have expected to look pleasing. you pulled it off. i enjoy watching where other people go where i have not. it gives me a little kick in another "safe" direction.
