...Needing a Break

Have you ever been working on a project, and had to simply get up and walk away from it before you pulled your hair out? I am finding myself at that place alot lately. I want to sit down and make some cards or projects, but I have absolutely no mojo! So I made a conscious decision to walk away from my stamps and accessories, and spend some time with my boys. My oldest son will be sixteen this year, and it hit me that he will not be home for much longer. I want to be here for him as much as I can this summer. My youngest is thirteen, and he still enjoys hanging out with crazy mom...so I am going to take advantage of that while I still can! LOL! I will still be making cards one or two days a week during the summer vacation, but it will not be an everyday occurrence. I will be right back at it when the boys head back to school, but I am dedicating the summer to them.

Thank you all for understanding how important this decision is to me. You all have been such a wonderful support system that I could ever have imagined! Your faithful readership and friendship has meant the world to me, and I have been so blessed to get to know many of you. Remember...I am not going away forever, but I will be missing quite a bit until the beginning of August. If you haven't signed up to receive email notifications when I update my blog you may want to sign up for them, so that way will know when I do have something to share with you {there is a link that you can click under my profile picture}.

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you back here on Thursday for a SAS Sketch Challenge card. I will be spending the day with my sweet friend, Pam on Wednesday so I should have some other cards to share as well. Until then...

Mercy: I totally understand. Although my girls are grown and one has a little one of her own, I know how you are feeling. I have cut way back myself on creating. Just some days feel more crafty than others. Enjoy your boys, enjoy your summer. Huggies,

Yep, I can completely relate to a mojo that's MIA--mine recently went on a 3 week vacation & is still slow to return home, but things are getting better. I think I wore myself out by pressuring myself to create & post everyday on my blog. Not only did my mojo need a break but so did I. Now that I've had some time outside my craft room I'm finding it easier to create when I do sit in there. Have fun this Summer with your boys! I'll be looking forward to your posts whn they do come around!

Good on ya, Mercy! I'm going to cut way back this summer as well. My boys are only 4 and 2 but, hey, it goes by so fast, right? I'll still be here when you get back as, I'm sure, so many of us will. Havea great summer!

Good for you! I often feel the same way. Kids grow up so fast-spend all the time you want WITHOUT any guilt. I'll miss your inspiration, but absence makes the heart grow fonder - right? {wink!}

You go girl, you just took the words right out of my mouth!! Now you know why I am only posting 3 days a week!! I too feel what most are feeling and feel so guilty when I try and create but as you know it takes away from our precious family time!!

Enjoy your summer Mercy and thanks for all you do for all of us each week!

Hugs, Jennifer :)

Some things you can back and do later, stamping is one of them, raising children is not. Hats off to you! See you in August!

Hi Mercy,

I am a loyal follower of your blog. Your creativity with your cards inspire me with my stamping. Though I will miss your more frequent posts, I totally understand and will enjoy your posts when they appear. You have made a "good" decision; family should always come first. Enjoy your summer with the boys!!!

I enjoy your blog very much. I just wanted to comment that my children are grown and I totally think spending as much time with your children while you can is something your will never regret. The time they were at home are memories I treasure. Now I enjoy my grandchildren but don't have enough time to spend with them.
