...Amy Rysavy's Friday Sketch #57

This was my submission for Amy Rysavy's Friday Sketch #57 from yesterday. I started with a Garden Green Cardstock base, then matted each additional layer with Summer Sun Cardstock. The green striped pattern paper was from the Patterns Pack II 6X6 Designer Series Paper Pad, and the yellow sentiment paper was from the Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper pack. The striped panel was also pierced using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The center panel was Garden Green Cardstock that had been embossed with the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, and three Silver Brads were added to the right side for balance. The sketch called for a bow on the right-hand side of the card, but since I had created a masculine card I opted to use the brads instead. The Whisper White Cardstock focal panel was pierced in the same manner as the large background panel.

The image and sentiment were both from The Greeting Farm's set "Never Ever". This set includes Peter, Wendy, and Tink...and I had to get it seeing as Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie of all time! Peter was stamped in Basic Black Craft Ink onto a scrap piece of white cardstock, embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, then colored with Copic Sketch Markers. He was meticulously cut out, then popped onto the focal panel using Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink onto the yellow patterned paper, matted with green cardstock, then tucked behind the focal panel to complete the card.

That's it for now! Since I am on a stamping retreat, I will be posting several cards this weekend for a number of weekly and/or weekend challenges. Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you all back here later! Until then...

This card is sooooooo adorable!!!!! I fell in love with this set when I saw it online and it's on my wishlist. The little touch of summer sun makes it look so fresh and I love the way you've coloured him in. I admire your patience in cutting him out, too! Fabulous card!

The colors on this card are about as close to the real Peter Pan movie as you could have gotten. He is colored beautifully and I love the rock you drew for him to sit on. Great job with this card girlfriend!!
