...Remake Wednesday #2 : Kickin' It Old-School

This is the second installment of "Remake Wednesday". Boy...do I have a good one today! The first sample was made right after I learned how to use the Stampin' Write Markers. I was afraid to dig out some of my older cards to show them on my blog at first, but I have gotten such a kick out it... I thought I was hot stuff, buddy! I kept hearing myself say, "Good Lord...what on earth was I thinking?!?" You all should get quite a giggle out of this one as well {and the ones to follow get even better}!

"Vintage Art of Life" (~2004...hello, plain jane! LOL!)

"New & Improved Art Of Life" (2008)
Changes Made:
  • Changed the card base and focal panel mat to Real Red Cardstock instead of Not Quite Navy {I wanted to use the colors from one of the upcoming paper packs from SU!}
  • Used 1/8" Whisper White Cardstock mats for the two lower panels instead of 1/4" mats
  • I used Cameo Coral Textured Cardstock on the large background panel
  • I also moved the green panel from the right side to the left
  • I used Kiwi Kiss Designer Series Paper & Kiwi Kiss Cardstock instead of Old Olive Cardstock
  • Used Silver Brads instead of Not Quite Navy Ones {I also placed them along the top instead of in the corners}
  • I added piercing with a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer to the background and focal panels
  • I added a piece of 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon
  • I added Frosted Lace Stickles to the darker blooms {love the *sparkle* it gave them}
  • I embossed the sentiment with Clear Embossing Powder & Heat Gun {after inking it with Real Red Craft Ink}
  • Used Dimensionals on the focal panel and large coral panel {it may cost more to mail, but it look so much better}

You can stop laughing at that first card now...the humor ran out three minutes ago! LOL! Isn't it crazy how stamping styles and trends change from one month to another...much less one year to the next. That's it for today, though! Thanks for stopping by and sharing in the laughter. I hope to see you all again tomorrow with a card for the Sketch Challenge at SCS, and I have a couple of others to show you as well. So until then...

They are both beautiful. If you just looked at the first one you would think it was great but when you look at the second and compare them the second is way more beautiful.
