...Color Inspired Mojo

This is my submission for a couple of challenges this week: Julee Tilman's MojoMonday Week #70, and Kristina's Color Inspiration #39 (Basic Black, Real Red, Green Galore, So Saffron, and Whisper White). I turned the sketch on its side, then replaced a small square panel with the star and sentiment flag...I hope that is alright! I started with a Basic Black Cardstock base, then layered the additional layers with the same. The red patterned paper was from the Jackpot Designer Series Paper pack {the same pattern that I used yesterday}, the yellow paper was from the Washington Apple Designer Series Paper pack, and the black striped paper was from the Ghostly Greetings Designer Series Paper pack. The edges of the large red panel and the focal panel were pierced using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. Silver Jumbo Brads were added across the top and down the left side of the red panel also.

The sailboats were from the set "Nursery Necessities", and they were stamped in craft ink, then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Gun. Each boat was meticulously cut out, then popped off of the focal panel using Dimensionals. The sentiment {from the same set} was stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink, then embossed with White Embossing Powder to make it a little brighter. A scrap piece of Real Red Cardstock was punched with the Star Punch, then a Green Galore Button was added to its center using a Mini Glue Dot. The sentiment panel was also popped up using Dimensionals.

That's it for today! I had kind of a late start, because I was getting all of my tax stuff together. We will be going to get our taxes filed tonight, so it has been pretty crazy around here! :) Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you all again tomorrow with some more blog challenges...hopefully! Until then...

So cute. I like how you turned the sketch on its side and how you kept the black to a minimum to make this appropriate for a baby card.
