...Let It Snow-Man

This was another card I made on my last stamping retreat weekend. I used the colors from Splitcoaststamper's Color Challenge #181 (Kraft, Basic Black, and Rose Red), and I used the layout from Beate John's Weekend Sketch Challenge #66. I started with a Kraft Cardstock base, then matted each layer with Basic Black Cardstock. The Rose Red Cardstock was stamped in Rose Red Classic Ink with the sentiment block from "Season of Joy". I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig and Image Sheet for proper placement. Two small Kraft Cardstock circles were punched out using the 1/4" Circle Punch, and two Black Brads were added to the center of each one. The brads were then attached to the rose patterned paper using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The Kraft Cardstock directly behind the focal panel was stamped in Sahara Sand Classic Ink using the "Canvas" background stamp. A piece of 5/8" Rose Grosgrain Ribbon (non-SU!) was tied around the panel, then the panel was attached to the card base using Dimensionals.

Every stamp used on the focal panel was from the set "Punch Pals". The snowflakes in the background of the focal panel were stamped in Bashful Blue Classic Ink onto the Whisper White Cardstock. The snowman was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink onto Watercolor Paper, and was watercolored using an Aquapainter and the following: Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Marker (highlights on the body), Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker. The snowman was cut out using CutterBee Scissors, then attached to the white panel using Dimensionals. The sentiment was originally a stamp with several phrases on it, but I only wanted to use one; so I used the brush tip of a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to color the phrase I wanted, then stamped it onto a scrap piece of Rose Red Cardstock. This panel was also attached to the focal panel using Dimensionals.

That's it for today! I hope all of my American readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! I am totally pooped...we had a very non-traditional Thanksgiving filled with basketball, but we did have alot of fun. I have to get all of the supplies and samples together for my upcoming clubs, so I will be a busy little beaver for the next couple of days. I will also be working on a couple of challenges, though...so keep your eyes peeled! Until later...
