...Perpetual Birthday Calendar for March Class

Updated To Add: The test results have come back on Kim. Doctors have determined that she has had a stroke. There was some brain damage, but how much will not be determined until she is awake and responsive. Please remember this dear family in your prayers as they will probably have along road ahead of them. Thanks!

This is our project for this month at my Stampin' Class....a perpetual birthday calendar. I started with some patterned paper from the Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper pack (9-1/2 X 5-1/2) for the bottom half, and some Pretty in Pink cardstock (4-1/8 X 5-1/2) for the top. The top is collage stamped in Pretty in Pink Classic Ink using the three-flower stamp from "One of a Kind". The two pieces were attached to the calendar with SNAIL Adhesive, then 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon was tied around the calendar where the two pieces met. I actually printed out the title in my Microsoft Word Program, then printed it out in Black onto Whisper White cardstock (4-5/8 X 1-5/16). The title was then matted onto Purely Pomegranate cardstock (4-13/16 X 1-3/8), and attached to the calendar using Dimensionals.

The large flower from "One of a Kind" was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink onto Whisper White cardstock (2-1/2 X 2-1/2), watercolored with an Aquapainter in Pretty in Pink Classic Ink and Purely Pomegranate Classic Ink, then set aside to dry. Once completely dried, the flower was cut out using CutterBee Scissors, and a Paper Piercer was used to make a hole in the center of the bloom. The small flower from the same set was stamped in Purely Pomegranate Classic Ink onto a scrap piece of Pretty In Pink cardstock, punched out using the 1/2" Circle Punch, and adhere to the center of a Pewter Build-a-Brad. The clear center from the Build-a-Brad kit was place over the small flower, and the completed brad was attached to the center of the watercolored flower. This flower was then attached to the bottom right-hand side of the calendar using Dimensionals.

That's it for the projects today, but I do have a special request. Please say a prayer for my son's AAU basketball coach and his family. Coach Jerome found his wife, Kim, last night in their kitchen unconscious and unresponsive. She is in the ICU at one of our local hospitals. Doctors fear that she has had either a stroke or a major seizure. This family is so precious to us, and we haven't even known them very long. This sweet lady called us every other day checking on Christian when we were going through all of his testing recently, and it breaks my heart to think of what this family is going through right now. Please pray for the wisdom of the medical staff, the healing of this wonderful lady, and strength and peace for this entire family. God has proven time and time again that all things are in His hands, and I pray that His Name is glorified in whatever happens. Until tomorrow......Hugs ~ Mercy

I am so sorry to hear that. How horrible for that family. God has a plan for Kim, though. Only he knows why. I pray God guides the hands of the doctors to help heal your dear friend.
