I didn't want to waste time coming up with a layout, so I decided to use the Sketch Challenge from SCS for this week. I started with a card base of River Rock cardstock (11" X 4-1/4" folded in half to open at the bottom measuring 5-1/2" X 4-1/4"). Always Artichoke was used as the next layer up measuring 5-3/8" X 4-1/8". The largest white panel was made up of Elegant Eggplant (3" X 4-3/4") and Whisper White (2-7/8" X 4-5-8"). The white panel was sponged in River Rock ink using a Sponge Dauber. The "heartfelt" panel was made of eggplant (3-1/4" X 1-3/4") and River Rock (3-1/8" X 1-5/8") cardstocks. "Heartfelt" was stamped in Always Artichoke ink after the "Watercolor Joy Standard Wheel" (page 89 in the Spring-Summer catty) was rolled across the river cardstock in river ink. The sentiment and flowers on the focal panel are from the set "Heartfelt Thanks" (page 89 also). The focal panel was a combination of the following three cardstocks: Elegant Eggplant (2-1/8" X 3-1/8"), Always Artichoke (3" X 2"), and Whisper White (2-7/8" X 1-7/8").
The flower is a two-step stamp, but both were stamped in eggplant ink onto the white piece, then the edges were sponged in river using a dauber. Each layer of the panels were attached to each other using SNAIL Adhesive. Then the panels are attached using a combination of adhesive and Dimensionals. Before the large artichoke panel was added to the card base, a piece of River Rock Double-Stitched Ribbon was added between the the two top panels and tied at each end in knots using a Hobby Blade to cut slits just outside the large white panel.
That's it for the outside of the card, but the inside reads, "Words, however kind, cannot mend your heartache: but those who care and share your loss wish you comfort and peace of mind. May you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends. Deepest Sympathy". Thanks for stopping by, and please keep Robin and her family in your thoughts and prayers. I hope to see you tomorrow with something a little different than usual...and I also hope to have my new stampin' goodies to work with some time next Tuesday. Until then...Hugs ~ Mercy

This is just lovely!
This is beautiful. I'm sure your friend will love it. I'm sorry for her loss. It's so tough to lose a parent. Big hugs to her.
