...Sketch Challenge #150

DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE A COMMENT AT THE POST FROM NOVEMBER 11th FOR A CHANCE TO WIN SOME YUMMY BLOG CANDY!

This is my submission for today's sketch challenge at SCS. The solid cardstock is Real Red, and the Designer Paper is from the Cerise collection from Stampin' Up! The card base is red, and is 11" X 4-1/4" folded to make a 5-1/2" 4-1/4" card. The designer paper is 5-3/8" X 4-1/3". I sponged the edges using Close To Cocoa ink. The next red panel that spans the base vertically measures 2-3/4" X 4-1/4" with designer paper that is 2-5/8" X 4-3/8". The edges on this panel are also sponged in cocoa. The horizontal panel measures 3" X 4" with Watercolor Paper measuring 2-7/8" X 3-7/8". The edges of the watercolor paper are sponged in cocoa also, and the flourish from Baroque Motifs is stamped off to one side in Real Red. The focal panel measures 2-1/2" X 2-1/8" with another piece of watercolor paper that is 2-3/8" X 2". I used the word "joy" from the set Love and Joy from the Holiday Mini Catalog, and I stamped it in red.

I used the 1" Circle Punch to punch out a solid red circle from a scrap piece of red cardstock, then stamped the "merry" round from Love and Joy in red onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper. I punched out the "merry" using the 3/4" Circle Punch. The 3/4" punched piece is sponged in red, and added to the solid red cardstock circle using Dimensionals. Dimensionals are also used to mount the solid red piece over the "o" in "joy", and to the focal panel itself to lift it off the card a bit. I used them again on the horizontal panel to lift it over the vertical one. A red rhinestone is added the center of the "merry" round, and red organdy ribbon is tied to a piece of HodgePodge Hardware. The hardware clip is added to the upper right corner of the horizontal panel to finish it off.

Well that's it for now! I have to clean house and make some phone calls, so I will see you back here tomorrow with the Ways To Use It Challenge card! Hugs ~ Mercy
