...Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #26, & Inspiration Challenge #100

This is my submission for Beate's weekend sketch challenge seen HERE. The Sahara Sand card is sponged with sahara ink before a matted panel of Really Rust and designer paper (from Fall Flowers) was added on top. A single panel of Groovy Guava cardstock was added after being stamped with the textured stamp from Oh, So Lovely in guava. The edges of the guava panel are also sponged using guava ink. Rust silk ribbon was then wrapped around the center panels, and tied in a knot. The focal panel is made of the following paper starting with the bottom layer: Really Rust, Sahara Sand, and watercolor paper. The flowers were stamped in Basic Brown, then colored using blender pens and ink pads in these colors: guava, rust, and Sage Shadow. I sponged the edges of the watercolor paper with sage, then used a fine-tipped glue pen to outline each bloom. Dazzling Diamonds glitter from Stampin' Up! was sprinkled over the flowers to give them a bit of a *sparkle*. The focal panel was then mounted onto the card with dimensionals to give it added lift. The sentiment (from the set Absolutely Fabulous) was stamped in brown, and reads "you're absolutely fabulous".

This is also my submission for today's Inspiration Challenge at SCS. The challenge was to make a card that was inspired by someone who changed our lives...so this is dedicated to Lillian Elise. Those of you who are close to me will know who this is, but for all the others I will have to explain. Lily was my daughter that I miscarried nine years ago when I was five months pregnant. She would have been celebrating her ninth birthday in a few months, and every November I am always reminded of her. She changed my life, and I never will forget her...but I know that one day I will see her again, and she will know that I am her mother. That always brings a smile to my face. I love you and I miss you, angel.

That's it for today! I hope to have another card to post tomorrow for you: SCS's Featured Stamper card {fingers crossed}! So until then...

Hugs ~ Mercy
