...I'm A Designer

Today has been one of those whirlwind days. I had to get Gabe (my youngest) up and ready for school this morning at six so he could leave by 6:45. He wanted to stay home so he could go to the doctor with Christian (my oldest), but I made him go on to school...mean old momma! I had to have Christian to the doctor at nine for a post emergency room visit. I picked him up from football practice Monday, and he was in tears and in a lot of pain. He had been doing blocking drills with a teammate when his blocking pad slipped causing his friend's helmet to ram into his ribs. Like a trooper, he continued on through practice in intense pain just so his coach wouldn't know that he was hurt. I ran him to the ER from practice where they took x-rays which showed no broken ribs...thank you, Lord! They did tell us that he couldn't participate in any full-contact activities. His doctor told him at his check-up today that he was better, and that he could get back to full-contact drills today also...he was ecstatic! So we took him back to school just in time to get home to make lunch for my husband and his friend.

When they left , it was time for me to start on my watermark design for my cards and photographs. I finally finished it! You will be seeing this used as an overlay for my cards. It took me about an hour to get it exactly how I had envisioned it, but I am overjoyed with the result! I have only used Adobe PhotoShop to crop and save my card images, so I was a little intimidated by the thought of having to do such detailed work with it. I am so over it! I am an Adobe junkie now! I can't stay out of it...I have played for over two hours in there, and I still don't have everything figured out. Give me a day or two and I will be able to do anything!

I also promised a sneak-peek at one of the many craft show projects I have been working on. I found these cute little wooden boxes with tote handles at A.C. Moore. So I looked for acrylic paint to match Stampin' Up's Purely Pomegranate, and would you believe that I found it?! I painted the entire box with it, but the photo makes it look a bit more pink than it is in real life. I used the Holiday Harmony Designer Paper to cover the front and back panels, then used the 3X3 notes from last month's SU! promotion to make six cards that would fit inside it. I wrapped them up in tissue paper, then stuck them down into the box. I also made one for thank you cards, and then one for friendship cards. I will be making several more in the hopes that they will be big sellers!

Well, I will be going to bed shortly simply because I am pooped! I may even be in bed before the boys! I will see you all tomorrow with another sneak-peek at another project.
